Studies have shown that more people are choosing to be cremated rather than traditional, in-ground burial. The Catholic church does support cremation and encourages all families to bring the cremated remains of their loved ones for burial or entombment in a Catholic cemetery.  By bringing your cremated remains to our Catholic cemetery you provide family and friends with a place where they can visit, pray and pay their respects. 

Holy Sepulchre Cemetery offers a cremation garden for in-ground burial and, cremation niches for entombment (above-ground burial) in our mausoleum.  Below is a picture of the glass niches available in our Niche Room.  The 12" niche is for one urn, and the 18" and 24" niches can accomodate two urns. While the 18" niche is great for two tall, or upright, urns, the 24" niche has ample room for the rectangular-style urns.

The niches pictured below accommodate decorative urns that are no taller than 11 1/2 inches.   Height and depth are 12 inches.

INTRODUCING OUR LATEST INSTALLATION OF CREMATION NICHES!  This beautiful wall of marble-front niches is located near the Chapel. 

• Only one person (cremation) per niche.  Only one name will be inscribed. 
• Niche dimensions are 10 3/4"  x  2 3/4".
• Cremated remains must be in the plastic bag as provided by the crematory.
• Recommended urns must be smaller than the dimensions noted above.  They include certain Book Urns, Envelope Urns, or Pillow Urns.  Urns must be smaller than the niche dimensions noted above.
• Drawstring pouches made of velvet, or other fabric, are recommended.

• Please note:  The Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith (Ad resurgendum cum Christo), prohibits the commingling, scattering, or dividing of cremated remains.  Cremation must be treated with the same reverence, dignity and respect an interment would receive.
